A total of six commuters were killed and another injured in a road accident in Afghanistan's northern Baghlan province on Tuesday, the provincial police office said in a statement, Ednews reports citing Xinhua.

The deadly accident occurred Tuesday morning in Khwaja Alwan area outside provincial capital Pul-e-Khumri when a truck collided with a car, leaving six dead including a woman and a child on the spot and injuring another, the statement said.

This is the fourth road accident reported in Afghanistan since Friday. A road accident in the northern Takhar province injured nine travelers on Friday.

Last Saturday, 13 travelers were injured as a minibus collided with a car in the eastern Paktia province, while 13 more commuters were wounded in a road accident in the northeastern Badakhshan province on Sunday.

Reckless driving on congested roads and lack of safety measures during travel are mostly blamed for deadly road accidents in the mountainous Afghanistan.
