The United States Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) published on Thursday its 2023 National Intelligence Strategy, focusing on competition with Russia and China, as well as "shared global challenges," which include climate change and health security.
"The National Intelligence Strategy articulates what the Intelligence Community (IC) will need to cultivate to be effective in the future: an information and technological edge, a broad array of partnerships, and a talented and diverse workforce as we pursue our vision of an IC that embodies America's values," Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines (pictured) stated.
The ODNI listed six goals the American intelligence community should focus on: positioning the IC for intensifying strategic competition, recruiting, developing and retaining a workforce that operates as a united community, delivering interoperable and innovative solutions at scale, diversifying, expanding and strengthening partnerships, expanding IC capabilities on transnational challenges and enhancing resilience.
