South African President Cyril Ramaphosa underlined in his opening remarks at the BRICS Summit on Wednesday that the bloc has been a "major" driver of global growth, trade, and investment.
"BRICS stands for solidarity and for progress. BRICS stands for inclusivity, and for a more equitable order," Ramaphosa stated during the summit in Johannesburg.
"We are determined that the BRICS partnership, which has been growing in importance and influence over the years, must be harnessed to driving an inclusive global economic recovery," the head of the state added.
