United States Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer hailed the fact both the lower and the upper congressional chambers approved the stopgap bill, thus avoiding a government shutdown.
Speaking to the media following the Senate's vote, Schumer described the final agreement as "very good news for the American people." He stressed that "bipartisanship has prevailed" and should be "the only way" to solve crises.
"Today, MAGA [Make America Great Again] extremists have failed," Schumer noted.
