Iranian Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) Saeed Iravan sent several letters to the organization's Security Council (UNSC), including one in which he stressed his country has not been engaging in any activities against the United States military in the region, Tasnim reported on Tuesday.
In another letter, Iravan was said to have criticized the United Kingdom over the latter's stance that Iran was responsible for the instability in the Middle East, blaming much of the historical issues there on Britain. Furthermore, he reiterated Tehran's condemnation of Israel and its alleged actions against Palestinian civilians amid the ongoing campaign against Hamas.
The ambassador's reported statements came after the US and the UK accused Iran of supporting Houthi attacks on foreign ships in the Red Sea.
