Chinese Foreign Ministry urged on Monday both Moscow and Berlin to work on easing the tensions that erupted following reports that Germany was allegedly discussing the potential bombing of the Crimean Bridge.
"China's position on the Ukrainian crisis is consistent and clear. We hope that all parties will be committed to a political settlement of the crisis and work together to deescalate the situation," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning commented during a press conference.
Previously, Russian officials condemned the alleged discussions, stating that the reported plan is a "complete disgrace" for the country. RIA Novosti reported, citing a source, that the German ambassador was summoned by Russia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs over the issue.
