The European Parliament adopted a resolution proposing to consider the possibility of granting Armenia a candidate status for European Union membership, Ednews reports citing Armenian media.
504 deputies voted in favor of the resolution, 4 deputies voted against it. 32 deputies abstained.
"If Armenia is interested in receiving candidate status and continues on the path of stable reforms and strengthening its democracy, this could be a new stage in EU-Armenia relations," the document says.
