The next meeting of the secretaries of the Security Councils of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) will be held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, Aibek Smadiyarov, the spokesperson of the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said this at a briefing, Ednews informs.
"The 19th meeting of the secretaries of the Security Councils of the SCO member states will be held in Kazakhstan on April 2-3, 2024. The event will be chaired by Kazakhstan. For the first time, Iran will participate in the SCO as a full member," he stressed.
SCO observer states Mongolia and Belarus were invited as guests of the event.
"Within the framework of this meeting, it is planned to exchange views on current international problems, a number of issues, including terrorism, separatism, extremism, joint fight against the illegal circulation of narcotics in the SCO's zone of responsibility,” Smadiyarov noted.
