United States National Security Council (NSC) Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby underlined on Tuesday that the US "had nothing to do with the strike in Damascus," Syria.
"We weren't involved in any way whatsoever. So the comments made by Iranian Foreign Minister [Hossein Amir-Abdollahian] that somehow we are to be held to account or that we are to blame is just nonsense," he remarked at a press briefing.
Answering a question whether Washington was concerned about Iran's possible retaliation, Kirby said that he cannot predict how the Iranian leadership will react.
