France has suspended a planned electoral reform on granting the right to vote to people who have been living permanently in that area for more than 10 years, in its overseas territory of New Caledonia which triggered civil unrest on the Indo-Pacific archipelago last month, President Emmanuel Macron said on Wednesday, Ednews reports citing Reuters.
"The constitutional project on the electorate in New Caledonia has been suspended," Macron told reporters.
