In Bolivia, a search operation continues after the disappearance of a small passenger plane over the Amazon jungle. The liner, following the domestic route, disappeared from the radar shortly after taking off from the city of Trinidad in the direction of Kobihi both are located in hard-to-reach regions with dense tropical vegetation and virtually no infrastructure.
According to EDnews there were 5 to 12 people on board the exact number has not yet been reported. The plane lost contact with the controllers approximately 40 minutes after takeoff. The weather at the time of the flight was unstable rain and low cloudiness were observed in the area, which could affect the flight conditions.
Bolivian authorities do not lose hope
Rescuers report that the possible fall zone is one of the most difficult in the region. Dense jungles, mountain slopes and the absence of roads make it difficult even to start ground searches. Helicopters have already been sent to the area, but visibility remains extremely low.
The Amazon jungle is not just a forest. This is a wild, harsh environment in which a person can disappear without a trace. Similar incidents have already happened in the past: in 2023, Colombia was shocked by the story of children who survived in the jungle after a plane crash. Then salvation happened in 40 days a miracle that, perhaps, will inspire searchers even now.The President of Bolivia, Luis Arce, expressed his concern and said that all possible resources will be used to locate the plane and rescue people. The families of the passengers are in despair - they can only wait and pray for the return of their loved ones.
What is known about the plane?
Judging by the reports of the Bolivian mass media, it is a light multi-purpose aircraft used for domestic flights in the countryside. Due to poor infrastructure and difficult terrain in Bolivia, such flights are the only way to quickly reach remote regions. This makes the situation even more tragic: in a country where airplanes are a vital necessity, the safety of air transport remains in question.
The disappearance of the plane over the Amazon is not only a tragedy for the families of the passengers, but also an alarming signal about the risks that the inhabitants of rural Bolivia face every day. While hope is alive, the search continues. And the whole country froze in anticipation.
