The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has advised airlines to avoid operating in the airspace of Iran and Iraq until August 31, citing ongoing security risks linked to continued US military strikes on Iran, EDnews reports.
The updated safety bulletin replaces an earlier advisory that was due to expire on July 8. The previous guidance also included Lebanon, while airlines were urged to exercise caution when flying through the airspace of Bahrain, Kuwait, Israel, Jordan, Qatar, Oman, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
The latest recommendation reflects continued concerns over regional security as tensions between the United States and Iran remain elevated.
