Representatives of the Palestinian radical movement Hamas will arrive in the Egyptian capital on April 7 to discuss further actions to conclude agreements with the Israeli side on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the exchange of hostages, a representative of the movement’s leadership said, Ednews informs referring to TASS.
“Tomorrow, on April 7, a Hamas delegation will go to Cairo at the invitation of the Egyptian side to discuss a ceasefire agreement in the Palestinian sector,” said a member of the Hamas leadership, as quoted by Al Jazeera TV channel. He noted that in the last few hours, “intensive negotiations on the resumption of talks” on these issues took place between the head of the Hamas politburo, Ismail Haniyeh, and the mediators.
The Hamas leader, added a representative of the movement’s leadership, “confirmed to the mediators that any round of negotiations should begin on the basis of [the Israeli side’s] acceptance of demands for the complete withdrawal of the Israeli army from the Gaza Strip and the return of displaced persons to their homes.”
