The Speaker of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis, Sahiba Gafarova, visited Uzbekistan with a parliamentary delegation.
EDnews reports, citing the Uzbek press, that Gafarova will participate in the First Uzbek-Azerbaijani Interparliamentary Forum to be held in the city of Khiva on July 1-2.
The delegation was welcomed by the Chairperson of the Senate of the Supreme Assembly of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Norbaeva.
According to the Senate, the forum will be attended by representatives of the parliaments of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, as well as representatives of the Youth Parliaments of both countries.
The forum aims to further deepen interparliamentary cooperation, exchange experience in legislative activity and parliamentary oversight, as well as assist in the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level.
The forum will conclude with the adoption of a final document aimed at further strengthening the strategic partnership, expanding bilateral cooperation in priority areas, as well as improving the legal framework for the effective implementation of joint initiatives.
