Azerbaijan is open to cooperating with Mexico in the field of green energy development and the energy transition, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Mexico Mammad Talibov said in an interview with Canal6 TV channel, EDnews informs.
The diplomat emphasized that Azerbaijan holds a leading position in the region in terms of transitioning to environmentally friendly energy and sustainable development. “For this reason, our country actively supports global efforts to combat climate change,” he stated.
Ambassador Talibov highlighted that Azerbaijan is already exporting green energy to Europe and possesses significant potential in the field of renewable energy sources, particularly solar and wind energy.
“The wind energy potential alone is estimated at 146 gigawatts—an impressive figure. We are currently implementing numerous projects in cooperation with various countries. Although we do not yet have joint initiatives with Mexico, we are actively working toward that goal. Of course, Azerbaijan is ready to cooperate with its Mexican partners in the field of green energy and energy transition,” he added.
The ambassador’s remarks reflect Azerbaijan’s broader commitment to environmental sustainability and its growing role as a clean energy provider in the international arena.
