The memory of National Hero Albert Agarunov was commemorated in the Alley of Martyrs

On April 25, a memorial ceremony was held in the Alley of Martyrs on the occasion of the birthday of the National Hero of Azerbaijan, Albert Agarunov.EDnews reports that the memorial ceremony was attended by the hero's family members, front-line comrades, veteran tankers, families of martyrs, veterans and public representatives.

Military personnel of the Ministry of Defense, members of the Veteran Tankers Public Union, representatives of the Narimanov District Executive Power, the Mountain Jewish Community and the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora and other participants first visited the grave of National Hero Albert Agarunov in the Alley of Martyrs.

At the event, the chairman of the Baku Mountain Jews religious community, Milikh Yevdayev, noted that Azerbaijan is a state that reflects the harmony of religious diversity in the world: "It is a result of the high tolerance of the Azerbaijani people and the multicultural environment in the country that we commemorated Agarunov at his grave with prayers from both our holy "Torah" and "Quran". We remember all our heroes along with him. Just as the peoples living in Azerbaijan have fought for the happiness of the country until now, we will always stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Azerbaijan in the future."

The chairman of the Veteran Tankers Public Union, Haji Azimov, emphasized that the memorial events for Agarunov's battalion commander Albert were organized solemnly this year, as every year: "May God have mercy on all the martyrs, at the cost of their blood and lives, our lands were liberated from occupation. Albert died for Shusha. In 2020, our heroic soldiers liberated Shusha. Our mighty army cleared our lands of the enemy in a 44-day war." Albert Agarunov's brother, Rantik Agarunov, expressed his gratitude to the Azerbaijani people for not forgetting Albert and remembering him. "The number of those who commemorate him increases every year. We are 8 brothers. The youngest of us was Albert. He was a cheerful person, he loved his homeland very much. He died for this homeland," added Rantik Agarunov.
