The film draws its emotional weight from a single, black-and-white photograph taken on January 18, 1992, at what would become the last wedding celebration in Khojaly before Armenian forces attacked the town, leaving lives shattered and futures stolen.
More than three decades later, the film returns to that moment, reimagining the interrupted wedding and retracing the pain, resilience, and rebirth of the city.
According to EDnews the story culminates in a recreation of the wedding photo now in full color taken in a free and victorious Khojaly, symbolizing revival, memory, and national pride.
Shot in Khojaly and Aghsu, the film is directed by Yusif Alakbarzada, with the concept and screenplay by Niyam Shirinov. The project is led by Global Media Group’s Chairman Elnur Abdullayev and produced by Fuad Huseynaliyev.
This is not just a film it’s a tribute to those lost, a reflection on what was endured, and a celebration of what has been reclaimed.
