According to the project, Azerbaijani films produced in recent years with the support of the Ministry of Culture are being screened in different venues of Istanbul until May 15.The next event related to the “Azerbaijani Cinema Days” was held at Istanbul University. The feature film “Monologue of a Lonely Man” was screened here. The film’s director and scriptwriter is Emin Efendiyev.
''EDnews” reports that the cinema days were created on the basis of a joint project of the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey, with the support of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center and the Cinema Agency under our embassy in Turkey.
Speaking before the screening of the film, the director of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center, Samir Abbasov, spoke about the high-level relations between our states. Providing information about the cinema days, Samir Abbasov emphasized that relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey, as in all areas, are developing day by day in the cultural field, and noted the projects implemented in the cultural field.
Onur Akyol, head of the radio, television and film department of the university's communication faculty, said that the rich culture of Azerbaijan has always been met with interest in Turkey, emphasizing the historical bonds of friendship and brotherhood between the two countries.
Emphasizing that cinema is an important branch of art, the head of the department spoke about the importance of the film screening for students.At the event, the analysis of the film "Monologue of a Lonely Man" by associate professor Umid Sari was listened to.Then the film was watched.After the screening, director Emin Efendiyev answered the students' questions about the film.
The moderator of the event, Seide Ömer, a doctoral student at the Faculty of Communication of Istanbul University, emphasized that the students of this higher education institution always analyze Azerbaijani films in their scientific articles and theses, and that our new films can be included in the topics of scientific research by students in the future.
It should be noted that a delegation from our country, consisting of the head of the sector of the Ministry of Culture Gunay Rahimova, the leading advisor of the film culture promotion department of the Film Agency Turan Mammadli, the head of the archive department of the Film Fund and Emin Efendi, as well as actors Gulzar Gurbanova and Elshan Rustamov, visited Turkey to participate in the "Azerbaijani Cinema Days" held in Istanbul.
