Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Leyla Aliyeva, has met with Madam No Fon Li, the wife of the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, during her official visit to Vietnam. The meeting took place at the Vietnam National Fine Arts Museum in Hanoi, a key institution showcasing the country’s artistic heritage.
During their discussion, both parties emphasized the importance of strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties between Azerbaijan and Vietnam. They acknowledged the historical significance of bilateral relations, which date back to the Soviet era when National Leader Heydar Aliyev visited Vietnam in 1983. This visit led to an increase in Vietnamese students pursuing education in Azerbaijan, fostering long-standing people-to-people connections.
The meeting also highlighted the contributions of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in promoting educational and cultural initiatives in Vietnam. Notably, the Foundation has supported projects such as the construction of a primary school in Ha Giang province and the provision of equipment to the Nguyen Dinh Chieu Secondary School for visually impaired students in Hanoi.
Both sides expressed optimism about the upcoming visit of the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, To Lam, to Azerbaijan in May. They believe this visit will further enhance cooperation in various sectors, including culture, education, and social development.
