“We acknowledge the right of Azerbaijan, as well as the dear Azerbaijani people, to have sovereignty over Karabakh and other territories that Azerbaijan should rightfully reclaim. This position is one that reflects our respect for Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity.
According to EDnews, this statement was made by the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, during an expanded meeting with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, in Baku on April 28.
Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran fully supports Azerbaijan’s territorial rights, stating: “We firmly believe that Karabakh is an inseparable part of Azerbaijan, and we respect this fundamental principle. Our commitment to this stance remains unchanged. Furthermore, we are confident that our presence here today will contribute to the strengthening of our bilateral relations and unity, opening new avenues for collaboration in various fields.”
The meeting underscored the mutual respect and trust between the two nations, particularly on the matter of territorial integrity, while also reflecting a shared vision for future cooperation in regional and global affairs.
