The foreign ministries of Azerbaijan and Nepal held their first political consultations.The Azerbaijani side was represented by Elnur Mammadov, and the Nepalese side by Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai. The parties discussed the development of bilateral and multilateral political relations, as well as cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, energy, tourism, agriculture and humanitarian initiatives.
As per EDnews, the consultations were held within the framework of the visit of the Azerbaijani government delegation to Nepal, headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov, which took place on May 2-May 5.
The interaction of the two countries on international platforms was positively assessed and the importance of strengthening mutual support in multilateral formats was emphasized.Elnur Mammadov was received by Nepalese President Ram Chandra Poudel and Prime Minister KP Sharma, and also held a bilateral meeting with Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba.
The Nepalese side highly appreciated the mission of the Azerbaijani government, and an exchange of views took place on issues of interest to both sides.As part of the visit, Elnur Mammadov delivered a lecture on "Azerbaijan's foreign policy: Challenges and opportunities" at an event organized by the Asian Institute of Diplomacy and International Affairs.
