"The Council of Europe is not ready for constructive dialogue and cooperation."
The statement came from the head of the delegation of Azerbaijan to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Samad Seyidov.
Commenting on the report adopted by PACE on political prisoners in Azerbaijan, Seyidov said that Azerbaijan is always ready for mutual dialogue. Some of the issues included in the report are unacceptable. We were always ready to cooperate. But this is not the case. Azerbaijan will never accept any document under pressure. We evaluate this report as a direct pressure on Azerbaijan and a document that contradicts Azerbaijan's national interests, ”he said.
Samad Seyidov said today's Council of Europe is not ready for constructive dialogue and cooperation.
The head of the delegation said that there was a serious crisis within the PACE.
"The name of that crisis is to stay away from a constructive approach. The double standards should be stopped and countries should not intervene in this regard. It will not be possible for them to communicate normally unless the Council of Europe changes and understands the philosophy of mutual dialogue."
