The process of negotiations on a step-by-step solution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is nearing its final round.
Sergey Lavrov's statements mean that the document is on the table and must be signed.
EDNews.net reports citing Armenian media that the statement came from former Armenian Minister of National Security, politician David Shahnazaryan.
"I have always said that Pashinyan is discussing a phased option. First of all, as Lavrov said, this is a temporary status of Nagorno-Karabakh, with the exception of the withdrawal of the Artsakh Armed Forces from the territories (five regions) and the opening of some communications that will not work in the second stage, including Azerbaijan. It is felt that these territories will be returned to the Azerbaijanis, "Shahnazaryan said.
According to him, the Armenian side continues to hide the progress of negotiations on the Karabakh issue.
"If you remember, in the first days of coming to power, Pashinyan said that he would not continue negotiations from the point left by the previous government, as if he was negotiating from his point of view. Lavrov highlighted Pashinyan's "clause", which means the return of some territories and the retention of other issues, including the status of Nagorno-Karabakh, in future negotiations.
The Armenian Foreign Ministry and the Armenian side in general continue to hide the reality and lie. Absurd, contradictory statements are made: Nicole Pashinyan says the decision should satisfy Armenia, Artsakh and Azerbaijan, while Zohrab Mnatsakanyan claims that "there are no talks," "this is a consultation," "there are no documents on the table." the official said.
Shahnazaryan also reminded that Lavrov noted the lowest level of Armenian-Russian relations in history.
"I am confident that the process of negotiations on a phased option is approaching the final round, because Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that this document is on the table, there have been talks and it must be signed. This was a call to the Armenian government, first of all to Pashkina, that it is time to be sincere with the public of the republic, not to hide the reality, which the Prime Minister has been doing for two years.
In a sense, it was also a warning that if the Armenian government continues to hide the realities from the public, Russia will simply start talking to the Armenian community itself. "Lavrov did not speak on his own behalf, he spoke on behalf of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs and presented the unanimous opinion of the co-chairing countries, which was extremely unexpected for the government of the Republic of Armenia," he said.
Shahnazaryan also said that Armenia has completely lost in international relations: “It is a failure in all directions: economic, social, investment and, first of all, foreign policy is completely defeated. Armenia not only has the lowest level of relations with its strategic partner Russia, but the same situation is observed in relations with the United States, where there is no agenda at all. The other co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group is France, which last year established relations with Azerbaijan and even implemented large-scale military-technical programs. In other words, a shameful situation has arisen not only in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, but also in foreign policy as a whole, "Shahnazaryan said.
The former minister also praised the statement of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov: "If this was done in relation to another state, I would say it is ridiculous, but in this case it is tragic. Such an approach is unacceptable in international relations, and nowhere in the world is the Pashinyan government taken seriously. Putting aside whether Lavrov is right or wrong, they do not speak to the allies in this manner and style. "
