7,033.6 hectares are planned to be cleared of unexploded mines and military munitions in the liberated areas this year, Rahib Guliyev, head of the Operational Department of the Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency (ANAMA), a member of the working group on environmental issues, said at the meeting of the working group held in Zangilan, Ednews reports.
Guliyev noted that last year, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources ordered 5,426.5 hectares of land to be cleared: "Of this, 926 hectares have been cleared. This year, according to the priorities of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, it is planned to clear those areas of mines and unexploded ordnance."
