French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu disclosed on Friday that some French arms manufacturers plan to set up their production of military equipment in Ukraine in the future.
"Three French companies will be setting up partnerships with Ukrainian companies, in particular in the drone and land equipment sectors, to produce spare parts on Ukrainian soil, and perhaps ammunition in the future," Lecornu said, with first production anticipated by summer, Ednews reports.
The defense minister clarified that France has no plans to deploy combat troops for ground operations in Ukraine, stressing that President Emmanuel Macron did not intend to show a desire to engage in "co-belligerence" regarding the Ukrainian situation.
