Umud Mirzayev, President of the International Eurasia Press Fund, expressed dismay over the burning of flags of Azerbaijan and Turkey in Yerevan, Armenia's capital.
Speaking to Ednews, Mr. Mirzayev attributed the incident to Armenian separatists, particularly mentioning the youth union "Dashnaksutyun," affiliated with the Armenian Revolutionary Federation, and even linking former Armenian President Serj Sargsyan to the event.
U. Mirzayev emphasized that such actions by Armenian separatists are a display of desperation, as they lack viable options. He asserted, "The separatists' displays of 'muscle' and their rhetoric are empty messages that will never materialize."
Furthermore, Mr. Mirzayev stressed the need for accountability for those who have led Armenian separatism for the past three decades, including figures like Serj Sargsyan and Robert Kocharyan. He insisted that their actions should not go unpunished, emphasizing the importance of setting examples for future generations and holding separatist leaders accountable, regardless of their location.
It's noteworthy that the incident occurred before a march in Yerevan on April 23, where flags of Azerbaijan and Turkey were burned, sparking condemnation.
