The Western Azerbaijan Community has issued a strong statement calling on French President Emmanuel Macron to acknowledge his country's responsibility for supporting Armenia over the years, thereby encouraging the continued occupation of Azerbaijani territories.
According to Ednews, the community's statement comes in response to Macron's recent attempts to justify France's arming of Armenia and his alleged defamation of Azerbaijan during a press conference at the European Political Community summit in the United Kingdom.
The Western Azerbaijan Community emphasized that France's sale of weapons to Armenia, which held 20 percent of Azerbaijan's territory under occupation for 30 years, serves to push this country, whose army and many political circles are dominated by revanchist sentiments, into a new war against Azerbaijan and provoke bloodshed in the region.
The community demands that France cease arming Armenia and taking other destructive actions.
