The new initiative emerged in Armenia against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. They started the initiative of covering the streets of Yerevan with graffiti reading #SutNikol (Fake Nikol).
Konstantin Ter-Nakalyan, Narek Samsonyan, and Artur Danielyan are among the initiator. They started demonstrations against the current government and the political activities of Nikol Pashinyan
“Since we are approaching the first anniversary of the launch of the process of overthrow of constitutional order and usurpation of power, my friends and I wanted to show some people that there are still hotbeds of resistance to Armenia’s statehood. Today, we are joined by several citizens of seven cities of Armenia, as well as our followers and supporters," Artur Danielyan said.
Another demonstrator Narek Samsonyan declared his distrust to Nikol Pashinyan.
“Pashinyan has started refuting 90 percent of the statements he has made. He started refuting his statements during the first months after he formed his cabinet. The public at large can already hear all the lies that the incumbent government has told, and the symbolic protest that we held on 1 April was aimed at showing the overall atmosphere of lies and falsehood in Armenia,” he said.
Police forces of Armenia arrested three initiators on 15 April while carrying out anti-Pashinyan protests but they were released shortly thereafter.
On 18 April, a group of people were walking along the streets of Yerevan and covering these writings with white paint.
On 19 April, five people were arrested for the same action and they were released after the preparation of an administrative report.
Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned that these people are members of the ruling My Step Alliance.
