“We inform you that the materials posted on a number of fake social network accounts about encouraging citizens to invest in some investment program on behalf of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev and his family members, are fake information,” this is said in the statement of the Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the State Service for Special Communication and Information Security of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ednews reports.

 
“The fake "interview" created by imitating the design of the website of one of the news agencies of Azerbaijan has the essence of disinformation and is a component of systematic disinformation attacks aimed at polluting the information environment of our country. We call on the public to believe only the information provided by official sources, we urge journalists, social activists to always show principledness against such situations, to be vigilant in a situation where fake and false information-based campaigns are rampant. It is ensured that appropriate measures are taken regarding fake material and its source,” – the statement says.
