US President Donald Trump released his Middle East peace plan called "Deal of Centruy", yesterday. Trump viewed this plan as a "giant step to peace".
He proposed an independent Palestinian state and the recognition of Israeli sovereignty over West Bank settlements and Jerusalem.
In a televised address, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas dismissed the plan. He said that Jerusalem is not for sale, all of their rights are not for sale and are not for a bargain.
“We say a thousand times: No, no and no to the ‘deal of the century,'” Abbas said.
Azerbaijani political analyst Orkhan Gafarli considers that such a deal is hardly acceptable. Orkhan Gafarli is a PhD in International Relations at Ankara University.
"But the important thing is that Middle Eastern countries and Turkey will remain silent about this issue. This is very clear Palestine has not been left alone by Muslim countries for a long time," political analyst said.
Gafarli thinks that these proposals are hardly acceptable for Russia and European countries.
"Apparently both leaders are seriously stuck in internal politics," he evaluated the reason behind the quick statement. Gafarli stated that early elections in Israel and Trump's impeachment trial forced them to propose such a peace plan.
