The British Army is gearing up for a series of offensives against the Yemen-based Houthis in response to the recent attacks in the Red Sea, Ednews informs via The Guardian.
The source revealed that airstrikes are being planned by the United Kingdom in conjunction with the United States military and another European country. These strikes will target pre-selected sea-based and Yemen-based militant positions. The Whitehall source added that this coordinated operation may involve the use of RAF warplanes for the first time or the deployment of HMS Diamond, a Type 45 destroyer which recently successfully neutralized an attack drone using a Sea Viper missile in the Red Sea.
Earlier today, British Foreign Secretary David Cameron cautioned his Iranian counterpart, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, about Iran's responsibility for preventing Houthi attacks due to its support to the rebels.
