United States Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin vowed on Tuesday that his country "will not let Ukraine fail" to defend itself from Russia's military operation.
"This coalition will not let Ukraine fail. And the free world will not let Ukraine fail," Austin said at the Ramstein airbase in Germany before the Ukraine Defense Contact Group's 20th meeting, first in-person, began. Austin stressed that the US and its allies' help to Ukraine led to a "staggering cost" of $211 billion Russia's military suffered.
Austin's remarks came as the US Congress continues to fail to pass the bill that would allocate more funds for aiding Ukraine.
