Konstantin Zatulin, the first deputy chairman of the State Duma's Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration, and Relations with Compatriots, has accused Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of attempting to shift blame onto Russia for Armenia's loss in the conflict with Azerbaijan over Karabakh.
Ednews reports that Zatulin condemned Pashinyan's alleged actions, asserting that Pashinyan is misleading the Armenian people and jeopardizing the hard-won achievements of previous leaders and the Armenian nation over many years.
Zatulin labeled Pashinyan as a "liar and scoundrel," suggesting that he is manipulating public sentiment to scapegoat Russia for Armenia's setbacks. Furthermore, Zatulin revealed that Pashinyan referenced two countries within the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), likely alluding to Russia and Belarus, in his accusations.
The comments from the Russian official underscore growing tensions between Armenia and its traditional ally Russia, as Pashinyan faces criticism both domestically and internationally for his handling of the Karabakh conflict aftermath.
