In the recent European Parliament elections, right-wing parties have gained significant ground. Notably, France's "Rassemblement National" (RN) secured 12 seats, while President Macron's party suffered losses, retaining only 13 seats. The Socialist Party also holds 13 seats, while LFI and the Republicans won 4 and 6 seats respectively. The Ecologists lost 5 seats, now holding 5, and the new party Reconquête secured 5 seats.
French political expert Serge Bainvel shared his insights with Ednews, highlighting the nationalists' victory in France. In response, President Macron has dissolved the national parliament, with new elections set for the end of the month—a high-stakes move.
Bainvel noted that France's foreign policy is unlikely to change unless RN wins the next parliamentary elections. RN's priority would be to implement new regulations for migrants. However, foreign policy remains under Macron's control unless the Prime Minister comes from a different party.
