United States Vice President Kamala Harris formally secured the Democratic presidential nomination after the party's virtual roll call vote ended, Ednews informs via Axios.
Harris, who was already the party's presumptive nominee, seeing as how no other contender made the ballot after US President Joe Biden endorsed her, previously already secured enough delegate votes to become the Democratic nominee. All that was left was for the five-day round of online balloting by Democratic National Convention (DNC) delegates to end so that the result could become official.
She is expected to formally accept the nomination at the DNC in Chicago later this month.
