In response to recent large-scale Israeli airstrikes targeting Iran’s nuclear and missile facilities, the Israeli government has taken the drastic step of temporarily closing all of its embassies and suspending consular services worldwide.
Ironically, Israel has encouraged its citizens abroad to stay vigilant — avoid displaying Jewish or Israeli symbols, refrain from gatherings, and coordinate closely with local authorities and security services.
Embassy websites in numerous countries confirm that there is currently no in-person consular assistance and no timeline for resuming operations. The government did not provide a clear schedule for reopening.
Security measures have been stepped up in several nations, including visible reinforcements outside Jewish and Israeli sites in Germany, Sweden, and beyond. The situation remains fluid and will depend on developments in the region.
