The Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Iran, in charge of international affairs and the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain have agreed to start negotiations on the release of Iran's frozen assets in Bahrain and resuming diplomatic ties, Iran's state media IRNA reported on Monday, Ednews reports.
"The two parts have agreed to hold technical negotiations to free Iranian funds frozen in Bahrain," the agency added.
The deputy governors of the two central banks agreed that after the meeting between the Foreign Minister of Bahrain Abdullatif Al-Zayani and the Acting Foreign Minister of Iran Ali Bagheri Kani, the negotiations would continue in Tehran, the capital of Iran, or Manama, the capital of Bahrain, until a final result was reached.
