Albania, despite the rapid development of the energy sector, lags behind in gas supply and cooperation with Azerbaijan will help solve the problem, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Energy of Albania Ceno Klosi said, Report informs.
Klosi stressed that cooperation with Azerbaijan, in particular, will help the country accelerate the development of gas infrastructure and expand its energy potential.
"We strive to expand our cooperation by exchanging the experience and potential that both countries have, as well as the knowledge accumulated in the energy sector. That is why, with the participation of your company, SOCAR, we are now completing the initial phase of the project - the preparation of a business plan,before moving on to specific steps to begin investing in this project," the Albanian official said.
"The Korca gasification project [in Albania] is the first project. But of course, we are already negotiating other areas of cooperation, such as oil production, upstream and downstream. We are at the initial stage of such discussions," Klosi said.
