Shusha, July 21 – The second panel session of the 2nd Shusha Global Media Forum, titled "Policies and Initiatives to Build a More Resilient Society Against Disinformation," was held under the overarching theme "Exposure of False Information: Fight Against Disinformation."
Ednews reports that the session explored strategies and initiatives aimed at forming a sustainable society capable of resisting disinformation. Discussions centered on creating a more resilient global online media ecosystem, understanding the spread of disinformation across various media platforms, and enhancing the media's role in preventing the dissemination of false information.
The panel was moderated by Ezzeddine Abdelmoula, Manager of Research at Al Jazeera Centre for Studies. The speakers included Salah Negm, Director of Al Jazeera English News Channel; Thembisa Fakude, CEO of the Mail and Guardian Newspaper (M&G); Mohamed Erraji, Head of Media Studies at Al Jazeera Centre for Studies; and Amr AlKazaz, Head of Digital News Gathering & Verification at Al Jazeera's "Sanad" Agency.
The forum, which has drawn more than 150 international guests from about 50 countries—including representatives from 30 information agencies, three international organizations, and 82 media institutions—serves as a collaborative platform for discussion and action against disinformation.
