US President Donald Trump has announced that American and Iranian representatives are expected to hold talks in Doha on Tuesday, saying the meeting was requested by Tehran.
In a post published on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump wrote that Iran had sought the meeting and confirmed it would take place in the Qatari capital.
"Iran has requested a meeting. It will take place tomorrow in Doha," Trump said.
The announcement comes amid ongoing diplomatic efforts to ease tensions between Washington and Tehran following recent military exchanges and renewed international calls for dialogue.
Neither the White House nor Iranian officials have immediately released additional details regarding the expected discussions, including the level of representation or the agenda for the meeting.
If held, the talks would mark another step in efforts to prevent further escalation and revive diplomatic engagement between the two countries.
