Well known journalist from Bangladesh Muhammad Jahangir passed away.
The president of the International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF), Umud Mirzayev, expressed condolences over the death of a well-known journalist, Eurasia Diary reports.
Two days ago, when I was on a visit to Frankfurt, I have heard sorrowful news about Muhammad Jahangir’s demise, who has played a prominent role in the cultural and social life of Bangladesh, from his son Apurba Jahangir: "Dear Mr Umud, I am sorry to give you the news that my father, brother of your friend, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Muhammad Jahangir passed away few days ago. I am sure you know this by now. Till his last few days he still wanted to visit you in Baku as we planed as soon as he got well, but he never did. Please do pray for his soul, and do keep in-touch."
Mohammad Jahangir was a prominent intellectual, well-known writer, journalist, who loved his country, nation, and a man of great personality valued friendship, putting universal values ahead irregardless of religion and race.
He had a proved experience of journalism training, media news, media management, and broadcasting in Bangladesh and in other countries mass media. Muhammad Jahangir’s endeavour to educate young generation and his efforts, who was a television host and an author of famous Bangladesh TV shows, an author of more than 15 books on journalism since 1976, will not be forgotten.
Even though we wanted to realize his wish of visiting Azerbaijan and being together with friends, his fate did not allow this. I consider his absence as a major loss of Bangladesh community, cultural and social life and his friends. I express my deepest condolences to his relatives, friends, family, personally Apurba Jahangir and valuable friend Dr. Muhammad Yunus. May his soul rest in peace!
