In order to protect against the threat posed by the coronavirus pandemic in our country, the academic staff of ADA University has switched to online teaching methods through the Blackboard Collaborate platform, created specifically for educational institutions.
The Blackboard Collaborate platform also allows more than 1,000 students to join e-learning, interact with teachers through virtual forums and discussions, address lesson questions, and complete assignments online. Assessment and attendance of tasks are also carried out through this system. Students can keep track of updates on the teaching process and academic performance using any mobile device in accordance with the academic schedule.
Video lectures are recorded and archived on cloud servers for students to watch again. Foreign students of the university and Azerbaijani students returning from exchange programs also continue their education through online classes.
The university administration monitors the quality of the lessons by joining the classes. The Blackboard Collaborate platform prepares weekly summary reports for deans, which are discussed through regular video meetings held by academic staff.
The Blackboard Collaborate platform has been successfully tested for more than two weeks, enabling students to participate in live online classes.
It should be noted that ADA University has been using the Banner student information system used by 1,400 universities around the world since 2017, and the Blackboard teaching management system since 2018. The ADA School, founded in 2019, also uses these electronic platforms.
