Ambassador of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria to the Republic of Azerbaijan Salima Abdelhak visited the International Eurasian Press Fund (IEPF) and met with its president Umud Mirzayev. During the meeting, IEPF president spoke about the activities and mission of an organization, its partners and social, humanitarian and infrastructural projects.
He also described the journey of his organization from its birth in 1992 until it obtained the General Consultative Status with the ECOSOC at the United Nations what allowed organization to contribute at regional and international levels on many issues both in Geneva and New York.
The parties discussed possible cooperation between the media and civil society organizations from the two countries and exchanged views on international issues. U. Mirzayev informed the Ambassador about the Azerbaijani people who were forcibly deported from Armenia, as well as about the current situation in the occupied by Armenia Nagorno-Karabakh and 7 adjacent regions.
Salima Abdelhak spoke about her positive impressions from Azerbaijan and its people. She said that the Republic of Algeria supports the prevalence of international legality and law in all conflicts. She reminded that since its independence, Algeria has included the quest for peace as a cardinal value in its overall political approach, regional and international. Algeria has devoted a large part of its efforts in Africa and in the Arab world for the sake of peace promotion through the peaceful settlement of disputes, meditation and cooperation as a factor in bringing people together and preventing the risk of conflict.
She stated that Algeria supports the search for a solution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict on the basis of UN resolutions that clearly recognize the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan and call for the liberation of the occupied territories. She confessed that the Nagorno Karabakh conflict is not known at the level of civil society in Algeria. Therefore, she stressed the importance of mutually beneficial cooperation in educating the media and public in Algeria about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

"For Libya, Algeria has clearly stated that she favors dialogue between the Libyans instead of offering them arms to begin an everlasting war. Regarding Western Sahara, I indicate that the territories of Western Sahara are registered in the United Nations list of the non-self-governing territories and are dealt with in the United Nations as a decolonization issue. The negotiation process is on the hand of the United Nations. As neighboring countries, Algeria and Mauritania participate in the negotiation process as observers".
At the end, Salima Abdelhak was presented a short video and posters, prepared by the IEPF and reflecting the acts of vandalism, committed by Armenia in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.
