An event dedicated to the "Year of Constitution and Sovereignty" of Azerbaijan was held at Qafqaz University in the Turkish city of Kars.EDnews reports that the organization of the event on the theme "Meeting of Azerbaijani and Turkish cultures" was supported by the Consulate General of our country in Kars. The initiators of the cultural event were students of Qafqaz University, including the Conservatory operating under this higher education institution.

Consul General of Azerbaijan in Kars Zamin Aliyev emphasized the fateful importance of the Constitution of Azerbaijan, adopted by popular vote in 1995, and informed about the historical Victory gained in the 44-day Patriotic War, as well as the successes of the anti-terrorist measures that allowed the restoration of sovereignty throughout the territory of our country. The diplomat emphasized that the historical words of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk "Azerbaijan's joy is our joy, its sorrow is our sorrow" and National Leader Heydar Aliyev "One nation, two states" are the main principles of Azerbaijani-Turkish relations and serve to further strengthen the fraternal relations between the two states.

He also emphasized the importance of the Shusha Declaration, which opened the brightest page in the allied relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey. The Consul General added: “Mutual respect and trust between the presidents of our countries Ilham Aliyev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan is the key to a comprehensive and active dialogue between the two states.”

The Consul General highly appreciated the successful projects implemented in the region with the participation of our countries, including the Kars-Nakhchivan railway and the Igdir-Nakhchivan gas pipeline.He informed the participants of the event about the rich cultural and historical heritage of Azerbaijan and called on the youth to cherish and protect the centuries-old values ​​of the people.

Kars Governor Ziya Polat, the head of the city municipality, Professor Ötüken Senger, and the rector of Qafqaz University, Professor Husnü Kapu, also addressed the participants of the event.The Kars Governor emphasized that the brotherhood between Turkey and Azerbaijan is manifested not in words, but in deeds. He said: "Our countries and leaders are very strong. The political course of the heads of state is a powerful incentive for deepening cooperation on all platforms. I am sure that this will continue in the future."

Then a concert program was presented, which was met with great interest by university students and teachers.The event ended with the awarding of the winners of the competition held among students.
