1,402 prisoners were pardoned in Turkmenistan on occasion of the coming Night of Power during the Month of Ramadan, EDNews.net reports citing AKIpress.
They included 1,192 citizens of Turkmenistan and 210 foreigners, the Turkmen television reported.
The respective orders were signed by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on May 15.
The local authorities are instructed to created conditions for employment of pardoned convicts.
