In his first public message since the funeral of his father, Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei pledged to avenge what he described as his father's “innocent blood,” declaring that “revenge is the will of our nation.”
Khamenei also expressed gratitude to the millions of people who attended the funeral, describing their turnout as “historic” and saying it demonstrated national unity in the face of adversity.
He said his father was assassinated in what he described as U.S.-Israeli attacks on the first day of the war in late February, adding that Iran would remain steadfast despite the loss.
