We witnessed another hypocrisy of the West. Recently, the EU published an interesting statement regarding the non-recognition of the so-called regime in Karabakh. It is noted that "Brussels does not recognize the so-called regime in Armenia as a 'legal base', but it is important that the Armenians of Karabakh gather around the de facto leadership that is able and ready to conduct result-oriented discussions with Baku. Brussels is confident that it is ready to "support this process".
Now let's look at another statement from Brussels about a similar process:
"The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, made a statement about the so-called "elections" held in the occupied territory of Ukraine on September 11. The so-called LNR (Luhansk) and DNR (Donetsk) regimes are illegal separatist entities in the internationally recognized territory of Ukraine. "Crimea is Ukraine, no matter what anyone says."
It is interesting that when it comes to the Ukrainian War, the rights of the Russian people living there are not taken into account, but the rights of ethnic Armenians are considered important as a legal basis. Thus, Brussels took a very shameful step in resolving the issue in Karabakh with its disproportionate views.
Talking to Ednews about the issue, political expert Farhad Mammadov emphasized that Azerbaijan does not accept statements made with such double standards.
"This step is a clear example of the double standards of the European Union and Western mediation. However, the reality shows that the more they carry out two-headed policies, the more they stay away from the ongoing processes in the South Caucasus, and their position is not taken into account. Every self-respecting state or international organization should understand that if its statement and approach are denied, this is an indication of its authority. We see that such statements are not accepted by the Republic of Azerbaijan. It means that the reputation of such institutions is not very important for Azerbaijan."
Thus, we can note that these double standards show that only military force is the highest manifestation of international law.
