Qatar Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Majed Al Ansari announced on Monday that an agreement is in place to extend the humanitarian truce in the Gaza Strip for two more days.
Separately, Hamas confirmed that it agreed with mediators Qatar and Egypt to extend the ceasefire and that the terms of the deal will not change.
Earlier in the day, an Egyptian official expressed optimism that the pause in the armed conflict between Israel and Hamas could continue beyond the deadline that had been set to expire later in the day.
