Italian Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani called on Monday today's missile strikes on Kiev a war crime that "must be condemned by the entire international community," adding his country and its government will continue to defend the sovereignty of Ukraine and its people, Ednews reports via ItaliaToday.
Russia launched an air raid against targets in Ukraine with the capital, Kiev, being hit particularly hard. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote on X a children's hospital in the city was hit by a Russian missile and there were still people under the rubble. The Mayor of Kiev, Vitaly Klitschko, later said at least eleven people were killed in the attacks but the final death toll still remains unclear.
At the same time, the Russian Defense Ministry said it successfully hit Kiev's military infrastructure, claiming the deaths were a result of the Ukrainian air defense missile misfiring.
