The US military says it carried out precision strikes on dozens of targets across multiple locations in Iran as part of an operation aimed at reducing Tehran's ability to threaten international shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
According to a statement from US Central Command (CENTCOM), the strikes targeted Iranian air defense systems, coastal radar installations, missile and drone capabilities, and small military boats.
CENTCOM also said the operation involved a combination of fighter aircraft, naval vessels, one-way attack aerial drones, and, for the first time, one-way attack sea drones, marking a new element in the US military's operational approach in the region.
